The fashion of bottled tea
Many people consume bottled tea, which comes packaged, with flavors and those kinds of issues that may sound very modern, even healthy, but not always. It’s a question of marketing, deep down: tea is fashionable because of its enormous qualities, so the producers of this kind of drinks take advantage of the trend and put on the market products that are not what they seem to be.
Bottled tea, if compared to a carbonated soft drink such as a cola drink, may have some differences in favor. But, really, it is not the best option that exists, far from it. And even more so if you intend to consume something that is healthy, that offers good properties and that, in definitive accounts, helps you feel better. For that reason, you should not fail to take into account what is explained below.
Why bottled tea is bad
Tea in the bottle contains many artificial products: Of course, when you buy a bottle of tea, you are not buying only that. You are acquiring preservatives, dyes, artificial flavors and who knows how many other additives this drink has. From the moment we go, this does not resist any point of comparison with a tea prepared in your home.
Bottled tea does not know what it is made: In a way related to the previous point and to read the label of the components that have the drink you acquired, you will read things you do not even know what they are. This already speaks of that it is not a natural product and that moves away more and more of the natural and healthy intention that has the fact to consume a rich tea.
It has a low percentage of tea: Tea in the bottle often tends to be a minimum percentage of tea (10, 20 percent with luck) and the rest is water, flavorings, sugar and other components, which are what give the profile so “drinkable” they have. Therefore, you are consuming a kind of flavored water that has a trail of tea in the bottom, deep down.
Its quality is, at least, doubtful: Who guarantees that the quality of the tea that is used to prepare these bottles is optimal? The most likely is that you consume discards or a tea of poor quality, because taste will be masked by a large number of substances that, once again, keep tea away from its healthy nature.
They contain a lot of sugar: It’s a fact, the vast majority of these drinks are sweetened with sugar or high fructose corn syrup. And if they were without sugar, with industrial sweeteners that are rarely of good quality and more than once they are suspect. As much, you will be able to find some option sweetened with stevia. But no more than that.
For that reason, if you want to drink a bottle of tea daily, cold, with a certain taste or taste profile that pleases you, nothing better than preparing it in your own home. Prepare half a liter, one liter, whatever you want; black tea, green tea, red tea … That goes well. Then add the natural fruit juice that you like and sweeten it with a product of your liking, if it seems necessary. You mix it, you let it cool and you can take it wherever you want.
