Green tea and black tea: Similarities and differences

What is green tea?
- Green tea has been positioned strongly among the preferences of tea consumers. But what does green tea have that makes it so special? Is it not obtained from Camellia Sinensis, like black tea?
- In principle it can be said that yes, the difference between green tea and black tea does not happen to be different species, even when both one and the other, recognize innumerable varieties.
- So what is green tea and why should I prefer it over black tea? In fact, if you are used to black tea, perhaps green tea, much less aromatic, will not satisfy your palate. However, there are important reasons to choose it over other types of tea.
Green tea or black tea
Green tea is obtained from fresh leaves that are subjected to a process by which they are prevented from fermenting. In this way you avoid losing your valuable antioxidants, which are responsible for much of its anti-cancer, anti-aging and immune system strengthening properties.
It is also true that by not suffering fermentation, a large part of the alkaloids that are released in this process are lost. In fact, Chun Mei Green Tea (Zhen Mei) contains less caffeine than black tea. For this reason, if what you are looking for is a stimulating effect, you will undoubtedly find it attenuated, in comparison with black tea.
Teas with other degrees of fermentation
- Red tea. Red tea is a semi-fermented tea that is halfway between green, unfermented tea and fermented black tea.
- Blue tea In contrast, blue tea is halfway between red tea and green tea, so it is more fermented than the latter, but less so than the first.
- White tea. For its part, white tea is the youngest and least fermented of all the derivatives for the same reason, it is also the richest in antioxidants.
