Matcha green tea cake
Green tea is a drink that adapts very well to all kinds of preparations. With this tea you can prepare salty and sweet recipes. Within these last ones I can mention the matcha tea cake; a delicate and special cake to share.
Matcha tea is green tea powder, with which you can prepare different special and very original recipes.

Matcha Tea Cake Recipe
Ingredients for 8 servings
- 5 whole eggs
- 4 egg yolks.
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 50 gr. of common flour.
- 175 gr. of blond sugar.
- 25 gr. of tea matcha powder.
- 30 cc of skim milk
- For the merengue: 65 gr. of blond sugar and 5 egg whites.
First turn on the oven and keep it at a gentle temperature for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, beat the eggs with the yolks and sugar, reserve.
Prepare the meringue with sugar and egg whites until the snow point is reached.
Mix both preparations.
On the other hand, sieve the flour, powdered green tea and cornstarch; and add to the previous mix.
Add the milk and mix again.
Pour all the preparation into a rectangular mold, previously greased and floured.
Bake at medium temperature for approximately 35 minutes.
You will realize that it is already cooked when you click with a toothpick and it comes out dry.
This green tea cake can be accompanied with a cup of red and orange tea or matcha tea with jasmine. For an exotic cake, nothing better than an exotic tea. Enjoy it!
