Description

Teabeau’s Huang Shan Mao Feng is sourced from a plantation in this teas home province of Huang Shan county and is produced using traditional manual methods. This tea’s unique taste and shape come from it being the only Chinese green tea that without using any buds, new leaves or stems. They then undergo a lengthy drying and rolling process, resulting in its unique round shape.

Process the of Huang Shan Mao Feng

The process of Huang Shan Mao Feng is unique. It is the only kind of tea made of pure leaf –without any buds and petiole. Only use the leaves picked before the lunar term Grain Rain as material. It is not unique, but also tricky. Choosing the fresh sheet of Huang Shan Mao Feng takes a lot of efforts. It must have no buds and petiole; the second piece of cloth from the top is the best.

After picked, the leaves must be spread for a period, and then be stir-fried. Stir-frying requires high temperature. The workers’ faces turn red because of heat.  The key is to control the fire’s temperature. Workers must adjust the time of frying depends on the changing of temperature. That’s quite hard.

The roasting of Huang Shan Mao Feng is another unique skill among green teas. There are three steps for producing the beautiful flavor.

Three steps in roasting: first roast, second roast (light roast), third roast. These three steps are the key. Especially the third step is the most challenging skill to learn in processing Huang Shan Mao Feng.

Toke me a while to get used to the taste once I tried it just as a green tea . It’s so strong . But I figure out when using it on my smoothie I don’t notice a difference in the taste of my smoothies which I like. I didnot tried any of the recipes yet. But i can tell it gave me power and I feel more healthier.
